Howard Goldstein joins Microchip Biotechnologies, Inc.

Howard Goldstein has been named to the position of executive vice president of commercial affairs at Microchip Biotechnologies, Inc.

Microchip Biotechnologies, based in Pleasanton, California, is produces systems for the life sciences, applied sciences and healthcare diagnostics markets. Its products are based on the Apollo fluidics technology platform, integrating advanced fluidics and analytical capabilities to produce automated sample-to-answer systems for biodefense, DNA and RNA sequencing, DNA-based forensics and molecular diagnostics applicationsl.

Goldstein brings over 30 years of experience in creating and managing life science product organizations to Microchip Biotechnologies and will direct the company's marketing, business development, sales and customer service operations as it transitions from product development to full commercial operations.

"Howard adds directly relevant strategic, operational, and commercial experience to our executive profile," Stevan Jovanovich, president and CEO of Microchip Biotechnologies, said. "His leadership and expertise will be keys to the realization of our commercial growth objectives."

Goldstein previously served as CEO and chief commercial officer of Arcxis Biotechnologies. Before that, he was managing partner of the biotech business consultancy company Practical Marketing and Sales.

Goldstein received his MBA degree in organizational development from Temple University and his M.Sc. degree in biochemistry from the University of Dayton.
