Approximately 130 British security and safety companies will be at the Intersec expo Jan. 18-20 in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

The United Kingdom's Trade and Investment Defense and Security Organization (UKTI DSO) staff will work with the British Security Industry Association, the Fire Industry Association and the British Safety Industry Federation to showcase the United Kingdom's security and safety-sector abilities as these British companies exhibit their wares at the expo, possibly looking at joint-venture opportunities with the United Arab Emirates.

Interior Ministries and police forces across the Mideast use security and safety equipment from U.K. companies. The DSO staff at Intersec will talk with possible customers and partners about the UAE's current methods of fighting against crime, terrorism, border security and emergency-response abilities in the event of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear attacks, as well as other areas of security and safety.

"Intersec 2015 is an important exhibition, showcasing the U.K.'s world-leading security and safety equipment,” Richard Freeman, UKTI DSO's senior police and security adviser, said. “U.K. companies are very keen to further develop business relationships with partners in the UAE and across the Gulf. This exhibition is important regionally, and we are delighted to have the opportunity to engage with officials from the UAE and more widely to discuss how we can enhance future cooperation in this sector.”
