UNDP seeks response unit team leader

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking an English-speaking individual for a team leader position with the Rapid Response and Preparedness Unit (RRP).
The deadline for submitting an application for the position, which is based in New York, is Dec. 9.
The team leader works directly under the deputy director of the Crisis Response Unit (CRU) and with other divisions within the CRU. The team leader is responsible for the management of corporate crisis response, including the databases of emergency contacts, response support and standard operational procedures and coordinating needed response support to the affected agencies. The chosen candidate will lead and manage the RPR Unit so that it is efficient in utilizing resources to achieve positive results and facilitating a results-based culture among co-workers.
Candidates must show evidence of experience in innovation, leadership, management of people and communication as well as emergency response practices and procedures. Candidates should also have an equivalent to a master's degree in international development, economics, business administration or the social sciences. Applicants should also have at least 10 years of work and field experience in emergency management, crisis recovery and response. Candidates must be fluent in English. Applicants with a working knowledge of other UN languages are desired.
