The Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) in New York City is seeking a deputy director of emergency and operations support, according to a posting from Oct. 29.
This person will support the director by providing guidance with influence from other agencies within the MTA system and creating emergency procedures related to weather and biological emergencies. This person will aid in the coordination of the MTA response so that its different agencies work together in the event of an emergency or outbreak.
Experience that the agency is looking for includes working in public transport, policy or emergency management for a period of at least 10 years and at least 5 years of managerial experience in either a corporate or government setting with evidence of successful policy production and implementation. It is also required that the selected candidate is available at all hours on an on-call basis.
