The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is looking to fill an infrastructure branch director position.
The person hired will fill a service position located on a Type II Regional Incident Management Assistance Team (IMAT) that reports to the operations sections chief.
IMAT employees are subject to a 24-hour on call work schedule in the event of an emergency. During this time, the employee must be willing to be relocated to emergency sites with little notice. Once on site, the team must function under intense physical and mental stress until the mission is accomplished.
While deployed, the person hired is responsible for providing technical and repair assistance to essential facilities and interim supplementary financial assistance to public entities. While not deployed, typical responsibilities include participating in exercises at a national, regional and state level and providing basic instruction on disaster related topics.
The candidate must possess one of the following: One year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the AD-02 level, a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or a combination of education and experience listed.
